At Naíonra Montessori Chluain Dolcáin, we embrace Gaeilge by immersing our children in the Irish Language. Irish is the language our teachers (Múinteoirí) speak to the children from their first day in school and the children accept it readily. This is done through song and actions. Although the children initially speak to the teachers in English, over the year they very quickly pick up words and phrases which they usually mix in with their English sentences. Very soon they are stringing Gaeilge sentences together naturally as they become more comfortable with the language

Most importantly, they are absorbing and understanding the language which lays a great foundation for them in their later years in school - especially if they go to a Gaelscoil.
